We are pleased to share with you this year’s University Life Gives Back – Summer Day of Service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2024. We are committed to providing our staff with the opportunity to make a positive difference and give back to our communities. We are excited to share that we will be able to provide a combination of both in-person and virtual service projects. A variety of service projects will be available for staff to choose from and engage in.
We realize schedules are complicated, so we have several service projects for staff to participate in as their schedule allows. Also, this years’ service projects have some opportunities that are designed for family and friends to participate in as well!
Staff must RSVP for a service project (feel free to RSVP for more than one project) so we can track where our service and outreach is occurring. If you would like to participate in our UL Gives Back Social Media Campaign to capture our service efforts, please use #ULgivesback when posting and sharing photos.
As a result of participation in the 2024 University Life Summer Day of Service, staff will:
- Engage with University Life and George Mason University’s core values by giving back to the campus and community through service, volunteerism, and civic engagement.
- Recognize the value of an individual’s contribution to our community’s effort towards social change.
- Foster a holistic approach to service by recognizing the importance of educating ourselves on community outreach, service, education and impact on intersectional issues.
We hope you will be able to join us! For questions, please contact Amy Snyder, Director of Staff Experience at asnyder@gmu.edu, Meeghan Milette, Associate Director of Professional Development at mharrin8@gmu.edu, or Lisa Snyder, Associate Director at lsnyder2@gmu.edu.
